Aquatic Therapy (Hydrotherapy)
Aquatic Therapy, also known as hydrotherapy, is a specialised form of physiotherapy practiced in water in our temperature-controlled pool. This therapeutic approach combines using the unique properties of water with specialist handling and rehabilitative exercises to offer effective treatment. Programmes are specific to each individual to maximise function.
Benefits of Hydrotherapy:

- Offers freedom of independent movement and to learn to move in a 3-dimensional way.
- Improves muscle strength and endurance.
- Aids recovery from surgery
- Provides sensory rich environment to help to develop cognitive skills.
- Re-education and encouragement of normal movement such as standing and walking for those who are unable to weight bear out of water.
- Improved aerobic fitness levels.
- Reduces muscle tone in preparation for movement and stretching.
